Arbutus Branch Fold
Photo: Artist
I am a big fan of the arbutus tree. A tough customer, it grows in the driest spots where almost no other trees can hang on. And it changes throughout the year: smooth russet bark period, followed by a pistachio period... then cracking and flaking of all the layers... and that's just the bark. There are flowers and fruit...
On a sunny January day, after a few days of rain, this branch caught my eye.
