In 2004, the organizers of the
Houston quilt festival invited people to make a series of nine small quilts,
each month from January to September. The idea was to create small pieces,
trying out new techniques, and keeping notes on some of the process. The
quilts were then part of an exhibition called A Page from My Book:
Journal Quilt Project 2004, Houston and other US locations
In January 2004, I decided to
participate in this project and carried it through, even though life threw
