Rouge

Red has always been my favourite colour. Using it in these textile pieces is leading me to discover its many moods and its power. I am also intrigued by repeated patterns, in leaves, in Savoy cabbage, in the scales on a butterfly's wing. This series is taking me deep into the world of patterns. Another source of inspiration is the use of red and black motifs in Hmong textiles and the Haida blankets of the west coast of Canada.
